Life Chronicles – America’s Misogyny Problem

I’ve digested my feelings for this past week. Again, I watched as America decided it will not elect a qualified woman to be President of this racist, patriarchal, White male-led country. The White women chose to vote with their race instead of their issues. The Latin community, mostly men, sided with a dictator, over their issues. Black men decided they would stay home and protest vote, while others decided to vote for a bigoted, racist who has never supported the community in the way it asks a Black woman to do. I’ve been reading, listening, and watching all the typical people come out and bullshit the nation about how out of touch the Democratic party is with blue collar workers. That’s the biggest fuckin lie in politics. They’re very in touch. Look at the policies of the current administration. Unemployment rate at 4%, good for all, especially Blacks. Student loan debt being cancelled and reduced. Paid Family leave being made law and required for all companies to offer. Persistent push to raise minimum wage, at all levels, to at least $15/hr. That raises the floor that all people get paid. That allows for people to make a wage that is more living life worthy.

Make sure LGBTQ+ people have equal rights and protections under the law. Providing quality healthcare access to more than 50 million people, who couldn’t get covered. And lowering costs for the hundreds of millions of others who have private insurance. Wow, they really must be out of touch. All you ignorant ass motha fuckas who sit out here and bitch about how things are, but you don’t vote and when you do, your dumb ass wastes your vote on people who will never win, or on a candidate who won’t do a fucking thing to help your life. Did your dumb asses forget what America was like under Trump pre-Covid. The economy was tanking. The stock market was high, but the job market was suffering. The economy lost millions of jobs under Trump before Covid. Oh, and for you ignorant ass people who think it was Trump who was responsible for the Covid payments, let me be the last and next to educate your stupid ass.

Congress is responsible for ALL financial laws and bills that become law. You got the money because of a Democratic-led House of Representatives, under the leadership of Speaker of the House, Nanci Pelosi. Oh, that’s right a WOMAN, you stupid bitches. She and her colleagues felt that all y’all ignorant Americans needed a check to make it easier for you to live in a shutdown economy. In fact, they wanted to give you MORE money. They wanted to give you between $2500-$3500 a month, for three to six months. Do you know who rejected that idea and stalled progress on it until the amount came down to the $1200 checks you got… DONALD TRUMP and the REPUBLICANS. So, for all the stupid people that voted for Trump because of the stimmi check, dumb bitch you didn’t get the check because of him, you got the check in spite of him. And more could’ve been had if he had been willing to agree to it.

Now that we’ve established that, let’s really unpack what happened. America is still a racist nation, founded for and catering to the whims of White men, and now, old ass, nasty White men. They flexed all their muscle this week and it showed with the White women, who for the past 4 years, have been trending away from Trump, but chose to support him at a 57% clip. We will have to find the perfect woman candidate to run and win. Let’s be honest, she will probably have to be a Republican, and the chances of a woman Republican candidate getting the nomination for President is as likely as me becoming President. Notice that in multiple Presidential nominating contests, Republicans have fielded qualified women candidates who were defeated handily, by the Orange blob. Democrats were able to nominate two candidates and both times America said they weren’t going to support her. In a country where 157+ million people voted in 2020, we’ve had 18+ million fewer people vote this year. And most of them were Democrats. Now explain that to me. And don’t say the economy because I’ve already given you the data that shows you’re better off.

And yes, Imma regular nigga who knows the price of everything is high as fuck. I also understand a President saying he wants to impose 20% tariffs is only going to cause the price of shit to go through the fuckin rough. But you dumb assholes think because he plays a successful businessman on tv that he’s going to fix shit. Now his administration is going to ride the economic and fiscal policies of the current administration for their first year or so in office and take credit. All those jobs that are about to start because of the Infrastructure bill that passed under this Congress and administration, his people are gonna try and take credit for that. And you stupid-ass simpletons are going to let him. When the truth is they will be because of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the Democrats in the House of Representatives that got that legislation through Congress. What is it about this nation that when faced with the opportunity to continue growth and prosperity, you always choose regression, racism, misogyny, and divisiveness? I’ve only seen this country choose togetherness, in the modern era, once. The elections of Barack Obama as our 44th President. And because he didn’t give Black people, especially men, everything they wanted, they’ve vilified him every since.

We do not live in a country of balance and equality. We have always lived in a country of tolerance. The White ruling class tolerates Black prominence to an extent. When they feel it’s reached too far into their comfort, they will pull it back and remind folks of why America is never the greatest nation in the world. But adding to that, niggas, y’all are the biggest part of the problem. We constitute enough of a population block in this country that if we truly voted as a community 85% of the time in elections, do you know how many times the candidates that supported our initiatives and causes would have been elected. Can you imagine how different the country would be if we, Black people, took our vote as seriously as our ancestors who marched, bled, cried, and died for us to have this right? Yet, we choose to create some bullshit reasons, fake ass obstacles, and ignorant ass rationales why we have to sit out or support the racist over someone who truly is trying to improve the situation.

Now let me also not be ignorant or blind. I understand that Democrats haven’t done the best job at delivering on their promises at any point in this American experiment. When the political winds have been present, they’ve always chosen a pragmatic approach that attempts to isolate none and fully satisfy none as well. That definitely hurts their case when presented to people. The reason that the Republicans rarely suffer that fate, is because they don’t expand their tent truthfully. They open the backdoor for people who will latch on to one or two of their policies that fit their beliefs and ignore the 15 others that are contradictory to their daily life survival. We continue to live in this prism of oppression and repression. Allowing nigga turncoats like Candice Owens and Ray J and others to perpetuate the hate and divisiveness coming from the racists and bigots for their gain. If you want the real answers to what happened. White people became uncomfortable with Joe Biden because he’s too fucking old. Kamala Harris was the only candidate who could use the Presidential fundraising dollars amassed by the Biden Harris team. American people said they couldn’t vote for him, and they wouldn’t vote for her. Trump knew it and so did his people.

And let’s also be clear. I don’t want a single fucking media member, talking head, political advisor or anyone else coming to the Black community and asking or begging for us to do shit. Similarly, if you’re one of the ignorant niggas who voted for Trump or didn’t vote at all because you’re dumb as fuck, shut the fuck up! I don’t wanna hear your complaints, grips, or bitching. You are the reason that we’re all having to endure another 4 years of this ignorant shit. Fuck all you who thought that this was the best course of action. America will always be for the White man. The bigoted, racist, misogynistic, prejudiced White man.

Life Chronicles – Supreme Court of Hypocrisy

I’m sure anything that I pose here isn’t going to be Earth shattering, or different from what has already been written and discussed about the final legal rulings of this term given by the Supreme Court of the United States. In a week unlike any other in American history, the Supreme Court decided it was going to throw its weight around and rewrite American history, this time not in the affirmative of rights of the people, but in stripping and restricting rights, access, and advancement in this country.

If I understand this correctly, mostly White business owners, and Congressmen, who didn’t need their PPP loans forgiven, were granted that, but students who went to college and completed their education, were denied relief from the anvil that is student loans because the Supreme Court said that the Secretary of Education went too far in providing relief. Then the Justices decided that they were going to take a hypothetical case, with a hypothetical scenario, with a fictious story and ram it through the court that now allows for businesses to deny service to LGBTQ+ people because it infringes on their religious beliefs.

And if that wasn’t enough, they threw the haymaker and said that Affirmative Action in higher education is unconstitutional. All of these cases were decided along ideological lines for the justices. The 6 Conservative Justices in the majority and the 3 Liberal Justices in the dissent. The thing that I continue to find remarkable is every time Justice Clarence Thomas, a Black man, has the opportunity to decide cases of Affirmative Action, he ALWAYS sides with the Conservative Justices, either in dissent or concurrence. It’s as if he forgot that he’s a Black man, whose seat on the bench is a DIRECT result of Affirmative Action. As if he forgets that part of his privileged education came because of Affirmative Action policies in higher education. He has drank from the well for so long, that instead of being a proponent for the advancement of the Black community, he finds a way to sink further away from the community.

So, as I sit here today, I’m asking myself what this means for me, and the generations behind me that are coming up, and the generations that haven’t been born yet. I am torn in so many different ways because each of these rulings impact my life in one way or another. I am an adult with substantial student loans to pay back. That $20,000 that was going to come off the books would’ve helped immensely for me. I am a Black man, who has more educational goals than just my bachelor’s degree. How does phasing out Affirmative Action in the decision-making process impact my chances of acceptance to reputable graduate institutions. I’m a proud part of the LGBTQ+ community, and I’m really nervous about how this ruling will open the door for further removal of rights for my community.

For as many people that feel all these rulings are appropriate, ask yourselves, would you be supportive if you were one of the class of people affected? I’m sure for most of you the answer would be no. When people ask the question how did this right or that right get taken away by an Earth-shattering ruling, we look back on these major rulings that laid the groundwork for that catastrophic ruling to be made. This activist court is laying all the requisite foundation for more consequential changes to come regarding Affirmative Action, financial equality, and LGBTQ+ rights. We must be mindful and proactive to ensure we can elect officials that will select judges who will rule with an eye towards equality and true justice.

These decisions that these nine men and women are making aren’t just in a silo. They don’t just affect the country along the ideological spectrum that agrees with their rulings. They affect everyone and everything that we do in life. There is a danger that this court is reverting American policy back to the “Good Ole Days” of White majority rule. Restricting the progress of American life and democracy. The constitution granted rights to ALL citizens, not a few or the ones that have the power to control. Why are these ruling so consequential? Black people have been disenfranchised since being brought to America, Affirmative Action was a Conservative policy enacted to help level the field. Take that away in higher education, is the business world next? If that happens, do we go back to seeing even more majority White C-suite offices in Corporate America?

Why is relief so difficult to come by for everyday Americans? We let corporations, company executives, and wealthy individuals get away with debt relief and financial restructuring all the time. But when a policy is written that aids everyday people with managing finances and lightening their debt loads, the court or government, want to say that’s a bridge too far. I guess that Reganomics is still prevalent today huh. Who the fuck knew that an outdated, ineffective policy from the 1980’s would still be guiding an entire ideologies belief set. Help the rich, fuck the rest right.

And the LGBTQ+ situation, I could spend 50 blogs writing about the ramifications of what the court just did. You have a ruling that was based on a hypothetical that doesn’t exist, you lied about the man in your brief. You said he was gay, and he asked for your site to make a wedding site for him. The truth is that the man is straight and has been married for 15 years, oh and he didn’t ask the lady for anything. Bruh are we really living in a world where the government, White folks, still making up shit just to get a policy they don’t believe is just overturned. I’m not shocked, I’m just tired of the shit happening every time we turn around.

The sad truth is that as long as we live in a society where there is one class of people who still believes that they are superior to others, we will always be in a place where we have to be concerned with the courts rewriting history in a negative aspect for those in the minority and who have little to no power. Speak up, speak out, do something and advocate for and effect change.

Battle of the Dinosaurs

As I come back down to Earth from the most amazing weekend I’ve experienced in a long time, I’m watching what’s going on in the political world and it reinforces some narratives I’ve thought of for years and exposes America’s weaknesses even more. We are sitting on the cusp of having our next Presidential election be a redo of the last one. On the surface that isn’t the worst thing that could happen. However, when you understand that in 2020 the race was between a 78-year-old Joe Biden and a 75-year-old Donald Trump. Which means this time around, you have an 82-year-old Biden and 79-year-old Trump. What the fuck are we doing as a country that our leading candidates to lead the nation are old ass dinosaurs. Let me be clear, I have no problem with our Senior Citizens giving their wisdom and experience to the nation, but I do not believe they should in control of the “most dynamic nation in the free world”.

When you look at the men and women who have been elected leaders of their countries around the world, many leaders are significantly younger than our current American President, and his primary challenger for the position. They are more diverse in terms of race, gender, and background, than our current slate of candidates for the Presidency. Yes, some of you may say look at the Republican field. It’s diverse and has women and a Black man running for office. My response to you would be, bull shit and more bull shit. Do you really think that goof ball Tim Scott, of South Carolina, has a remote chance at winning the nomination. The dumb shit he kept saying and the weird dancing he was doing, will not endear him to anyone in the electorate. Nikki Haley, there’s another choice that realistically has not a snowballs chance in hell of becoming the nominee either. Why do I say that? Well look at the party. The modern-day Republican party is one of bigotry, misogyny, isolation, White patriarchy, and regression. Electable women do not fit in that mold, unless you’re a loudmouth, ignorant, Trump supporter. Therein lies the rub, those people can never win a Presidential election.

So, we as a nation are staring at a rematch of all the things that really should be the past of America. Instead, it is the present and future, for at least the next 6 years. When will some of you get off the notion that a younger candidate is an unprepared candidate? Do you realize that under younger Presidents America has been the most successful and innovative. Under John Kennedy we had the race to the moon, and the beginnings of the Civil Rights Movement. Under Clinton we had record surpluses in the National budget and many corporations that ran surpluses actually gave the money back to regular employees and not just the CEO or c-suite executives. Under Obama Universal healthcare became the norm. Don’t ask don’t tell went away, same gender marriage became legal, we killed the leader of the 9/11 attacks. What is the common thread amongst these men? They are all Democrats, and they were all young when elected President of the United States. Progress means accepting the youth movement and allowing it to proliferate into the realms of your businesses and institutions. That’s the only way that we move civilization forward in the ways it’s intended.

Instead of total forward progress, we find ourselves mired in another unofficial civil war. In the Conservative parts of America, Republicans are leading the charge to regress to eras gone by where old, and young, White men controlled and ruled the day. Even the White women elected as Republicans are governing blindly against their own interests. To ignore your child’s wishes because you think that they’re unable to fully understand themselves is laughable. To try and police the information that the world knows about this country’s founding and the devilish things Whites did to ascend to power is criminal. How do they do it, by restricting access to reading material that is comprehensive. By controlling school boards and local elections to restrict dynamic curriculums being created. By finding and appointing judges who will interpret the law to be in agreement with the outdated principles of their leaders. And by gerrymandering state districts to restrict and prevent true and accurate elected officials from obtaining office. In Liberal parts of the country, Democrats are trying to push the nation to become current with the times. Updated technology, modern electrical grids, dynamic school systems, upgraded tax codes that offer a shot at fair tax collection, updated public transit, and elected leaders that reflect the demographics of the areas in which they represent. Not to mention judges who don’t take a penal view of the law, but a just and redemptive approach to issuing justice to criminal offenders.

This brings me back to the two leading representatives of the political parties. Joe Biden, the Democrat, and Donald Trump, the Republican. One man reshaped his entire party to reflect the hateful, destructive views of many of his electorate, while the other capitalized on the fear of his electorate to endure years of a corrosive, damaging leader. The results were not what anyone expected but were extremely predictable. When America is uncertain about things, it turns to old White men to stabilize and reset the country. After 8 years of a Black man leading this nation, it turned to an old White man who had outdated beliefs because the new way was too dynamic for many of the old ass people living in this country. Young people wanted more and so the candidates offered in 2016 didn’t deliver on that, hence the Orange walrus being elected. In 2020, the field boasted new, fresh candidates, but none that excited the masses and none that offered a bold enough solution to remove the stench that engulfed America for 4 years, so we went with an old, White man who promised to “restore the soul of America”, and to “restore America’s place in the world”. Instead, what we’ve gotten so far is a half ass move towards progression in some ways and a regression to “Old White America” in most other ways.

As we stand just a year and a half away from the next Presidential election, we must answer the question: Do we really want to sit through another old ass geriatric election between two old farts that need to be sitting in their retirement homes enjoying the twilight years of their lives, not trying to run the most expansive country in the world. Neither Trump nor Biden are dynamic thinkers, movers, or organizers. They are writing American history that is truly dynamic, they are rewriting a narrative already written with moderate changes to the story. In Trump’s case, his party is rewriting the narrative and it’s going to destroy the nation of the other elected Republican leaders don’t break the zombie hold Trump has on the party. Buckle up, the dementia, outbursts, and rants are going to be on full display. What will also be on display is the embarrassing representation by our political leaders. Many of them are old, White, and male. Let the battle of the old White men commence.

Life Chronicles – The Brittney Griner Outrage

Laughing at some of the comments I’ve heard since the release of Brittney Griner seemed to be the correct approach as opposed to being upset or disgusted. I wasn’t surprised that sooo many “patriotic” Americans were outraged that the U.S. government negotiated to get an “athlete” back home over an “American patriot”. Oh, and part of the specificity for why they were so mad is because of the individual we swapped Griner for. While at first glance one might say, “damn, why the fuck did we trade this guy for her?” A closer and more educated analysis would bring to light the consciousness needed in this matter. You’re trading with an enemy, who has despised you for decades, why would you think they’re going to accept a nominal, low level person in return. Consider the facts, if B.G. was a man, she would be world known far more than what she is. Her resume is unquestioned in terms of its greatness, yet, she has to hoop in Russia to make the money she should make in the States because of the devaluing of the WNBA game.

Put yourself in their shoes for a moment and tell me you wouldn’t do the same thing. You have an American asset that is high value, and very notable who has broken one of your laws. You throw the hammer and demand a kings’ ransom to get her back. That’s what they did and that’s what we did. Stop pretending for this ignorant ass outrage and cries of make it make sense. An arms dealer for a basketball player. That underscores your lack in political and international understanding. It was always going to be a high price to pay for her release because of who she is. And true to American nature, we couldn’t resist gas lighting the situation at against the urging of the top officials. The more you show your hand how valuable an asset is, the higher the price you pay. That’s negotiation 101. The moral argument that her name needed to stay in the news so that no one forgets is nice, but highly unnecessary. She was never going to be forgotten, and while in the end the same price may have been paid to extract her freedom, I have to wonder if we could’ve gotten Paul Whalen and B.G. for the dealer if the gas lighters had kept quiet.

Understanding the story of Whalen and many other Americans held captive by Russia accused of crimes that seem so farfetched, until you understand the chess moves these countries make against each other on a daily basis. Could Whalen truly be an American spy, hell yea he could. And to sit and try to say otherwise just because the government says so is stupid. We know that these countries use mundane, simple covert covers for their spies in other countries. The Americans do it all over the world and so do all other powerful governments. I have no information to support Russia and their claims, nor do I have any knowledge to support the U.S. and its claims. What I do know is that the freedom of B.G. should not have any attachment to Whalen, unless it’s truly known that he’s innocent and we really had a chance at a swap realistically. You bargain from a position of strength, and if you can’t do that you at least try to make the strongest hand possible.

What we now know is that these governments are enthralled in a fabulous game of chess. The pieces are Americans and Russians who are innocent and guilty. We know that Russia is a dirty adversary who wants its knights, rooks, and bishops back to reassemble a strong chess board. For the U.S., at this point, it seems we are just trying to get pawns back, while our rooks, knights, and bishops are safely being deployed. High powered pawns sucking up the oxygen reserved for more valuable chess pieces is a weakness that the U.S. gets exploited on because of the “moral values” expounded upon by the President and rest of the government. Do your homework, read up on these things and obtain a better understanding, then return to this discussion.

Biden’s Death Drop

I sounded this alarm back during the Democratic Primary and it is showing itself in the first year of the current President’s administration. The unfortunate part, it may be ushering in another era of Trump. And God help all of us if that happens. But President Joe Biden is failing one of the most important tests of a new president and it’s going to get him beaten in 2024 if he doesn’t fix it and fast. He’s not taking care of the constituents that got him elected President and they’re about to make his ass pay for it dearly.

If we remember back to when his candidacy was on life support, it was the Black community that came to his aide. The South Carolina Democratic Primary was the rebirth of Joe Biden. Older Black people went out in masse to lift Joe back to relevancy. He was teetering on the brink of disaster and they saved him. He came roaring back and then the young, Black people came out in enough numbers to support Biden. But the groups that also powered him to the White House were middle of the road folks. Independents that didn’t want Trump and weren’t ready for the full revolution that needs to come to Democrats. Those centrist people who felt that Biden was better then Trump. But, again, the block that delivered the White House and the United States Senate was the BLACK vote. My people in Georgia, including myself, went to the polls to deliver TWO Senators from the state of Georgia who were Democrats. In fact, we delivered the states first Black U.S. Senator and Jewish Senator.

The promise was elect Warnock and Osoff to help give Biden control of a Senate that would partner with Democratic controlled House of Representatives to give to Black people what we deserved, change! There was all the talk of significant financial assistance to Historically Black Colleges and Universities, that is so desperately needed. There was the promise of cancelling student debt for so many Americans, that would dramatically help Blacks more, since the majority of student debt is held by African Americans. There was the promise of major police reform legislation that would address the disproportionate brutality of innocent Blacks by police across the country, There was the promise of restoring Voting Rights that are being attacked by Republicans in state after state that they control the legislatures. All of these items were spewed out of the mouth of Candidate Biden and down ballot Democrats across the country. Well, here we are nine months into the Presidency of Joe Biden and he is fucking failing! The police reform was shot to shit, as expected. Voting Rights is being held up by Republicans, as expected. The fuck boy and fuck girl Senators Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema, are holding up the Infrastructure Bills because they’re protecting the lobbyists and elite Whites who don’t want regular people to get the leg up we really fucking need. Covid is still fucking with our economy and country. HBCU’s are still struggling for financial assistance, and what the Biden people do in the reconciliation bill to appease Manchin and Sinema? Oh they stripped the aid going to HBCU’s down to $1.45 billion, instead of the $45 billion originally promised.

We all understand that most times a President, or candidate, just blusters when they’re giving speeches to court votes. It’s understood that Congress actually sets the financial agenda and allocates money. But, a President can have a significant influence in that plan. We’ve seen throughout history when President’s really want something, and they have the control of Congress to get it, it gets done. What this shows me is that Biden, at this point, doesn’t have the courage of his convictions and it will cost him and the party dearly. One thing I’ve consistently read about, and discussed is just how turned off the Black community is with Joe Biden right now. Pair that with women of all races and ethnic backgrounds beings dissatisfied with his accomplishments so far, and that spells disaster for his Presidency at this snap shot in history. It will really hurt the Congressional Democrats in the districts and states that voted to put Biden in office. What is showing us at this point, is an inability to act and lead. Seeing and hearing the constant fighting between the factions of Democrats is ugly. And to see that the President ain’t saying shit really, is worse. Where are the meetings with both sides, forcing a swift compromise, a united front and a determination to get the work of the People done? That shit ain’t happening and it will cost him when we vote next year.

It has been a consistent theme for some national Democrats and I think that the time is coming for them to pay a steep price in order to understand how to take Black votes serious. They pander to the community with things that we desperately needed, increased financial resources to our schools, fair and enforced voting rights, better primary schools, reforms for policing and criminal justice, more opportunities for good paying jobs. And in the end, we get shit. Or what we do get is pennies on the dollar to what they give to the White constituencies. It is a shame, but it’s the one thing that has been extremely consistent throughout the history of this country. Both parties have done the exact same thing. When it’s time to put their money where their mouths are, they punt and give some watered down, fuck ass version of their promise and then make promises to deliver the next time they’re elected. Or, they pass it to the Congress and say if you want what I promise you, elect these Congress men and women who can give it to you. Well, when they have the majority they ask for, they still can’t get their house in order. So in my mind, what needs to be done is to clean house. Old guard out, new guard in. Consistent and forceful voting for young, competent candidates that truly want to make a difference for the Black community. Times up Joe, deliver or you will be delivered back to Delaware as the ex-President.

Thoughts?……

Black Excellence

I often wondered just how deep did White hate go for Black excellence. And while I haven’t gotten to the full extent of it, having done research for the past two months, it is crystalized in my mind that they hated Us. I mean damn, if you take some time and look into the annals of history, you find that there are sooo many successful Black entrepreneurs. You see the success of a Maggie Walker, C.C. Spaulding, Dr. Aaron Moore, John Merrick, Walter Edwards, Granville T . Woods, Henry Boyd, Francois and Julien Lacroix, Jean Baptiste and Augustin Metoyer, Lucy McWorter, Henrietta S. Duterte, Elleanor Eldridge, CeCee Macarty, Marie Thereze Coincoin and so on. I can continue to list the names of Black male and female entrepreneurs in the annals of history. So many that it disgusts me to see just how under-represented and under-reported Black business history is and has been. What it does is make crystal clear just how much White America feared and despised Black people.

I said that I was going to be writing a series of stories to promote and uplift the Black community, and in particular the Black business community. See what was known about Slavery and Jim Crow doesn’t really begin to tell the detailed story about just how perverse and intentional White America was with belittling, devaluing, embarrassing, delegitimizing, suppressing, dehumanizing and disenfranchising Black people. Did you know that back during the Antebellum South days, because of the laws on the books that didn’t recognize Blacks as people and citizens of this country, if a Black slave invented something they could not get patent credit for it. The credit for the invention went to the White Slave owner. History has shown that Blacks invented many things that we use today. Maybe, just maybe some of the credit given to White men for creating inventions we consider revolutionary, doesn’t belong to them at all. Because of the system of suppression and oppression and enslavement, Blacks never got their full credit for the things they invented.

I think back to the free Blacks and the Slaves during Colonial times in the United States and I wonder how they really felt about having to scratch and claw for everything they earned. Having their dreams and creations taken away from them. To have credit given to a White man who didn’t do a damn thing and you have to accept it because the laws and customs of the country precluded you from having your say. You couldn’t go to court, you couldn’t testify, you couldn’t hold political office. None of the levers of control you operated, you were just along for the ride. And yet, with knowing all of this they persisted. Black men and women didn’t quit when they were stripped of everything. When racist and prejudiced Whites destroyed their businesses and homes, they didn’t quit. When the Slave master raped women and forced them to have their babies, they didn’t quit. Black people kept fighting and kept finding ways to succeed in a country designed to destroy them.

Take a look at what happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Atlanta, Georgia, Chicago, Illinois, Harlem, New York, Durham, North Carolina. These places were epicenters of Black business ingenuity and success. Places where Blacks built significant wealth and showed themselves to be equal to their White counterparts. And places where Whites, disgusted and outraged that Black entrepreneurs were maintaining, and in most cases, significantly growing their wealth, that they had to destroy the business community. They had to try to eradicate the Black businessman and businesswomen. In Tulsa they effectively destroyed the Greenwood district. Although, little by little the descendants of that once thriving Black business district are working to try and restore the lore and prestige of that hallowed land. The Black business district in Durham, known affectionately as Hayti, is still producing quality, sustained Black business and the descendants of their once sprawling, thriving business district are working to lift it back to similar stature. After the Atlanta race riots, the city leaders didn’t back down and Black business has continued to boom in Atlanta and expand. It is thriving and continues to be a place that many potential Black entrepreneurs come to get their foot in the door. All these places Whites tried to destroy because it ran counter to the narrative they were so skilled and persistent with delivering to the masses of this country. That narrative being that Blacks were ignorant, we aren’t intelligent enough to establish and run successful businesses. That we can’t be trusted and that we are animals, barbarians that need to be contained and controlled.

These are the words used to describe us when Slavery was brought to this country and kept in tact for hundreds of years. The same refrain was used post Slavery, during Reconstruction, when Whites didn’t want to integrate freed Blacks into the economic, social, and political mainstream of America. This narration was used to justify the need for Jim Crow Laws in the South and Segregation in the North. These reasons were used when the New Deal was being crafted, made law and excluded Blacks because of Southern insistence that Whites were superior to Blacks. This refrain was used during the Civil Rights Movement to explain why it was okay to allow police dogs to maim Black people. To explain why lynching Black people wasn’t a crime and why it was humane, because we were animals with no souls and we deserved this treatment. It is used today when Whites want to try and delegitimize the push by the Black Lives Matter Movement because we refused to protest in the manner they thought we should. Because they want to change the dynamics and don’t want to accept White talking points with little action.

Let me be clear here, notice I have not separated White groups in this writing. Because all iterations of the Republican and Democratic parties have been racist, prejudicial and demeaning to the Black community. Neither party has truly followed through on the promises of full equality for the Black community. Reparations is something that needs to happen. Look at history with a clear eye and you can see that, damn what these dumb asses say. Let that Booker T Washington mind set go. Proving your success doesn’t get you shit but more challenges if you’re Black. The race can’t continue to be ran when we’re starting a mile behind. Business equality still isn’t any closer to a reality than it was at the end of Slavery, and every era that followed. Consumer equality has never existed in this country, despite the half assed laws on the books that aren’t stringently enforced. I want this to be a clear message: History has never been fully, nor correctly told by White America or by the mainstream media of America. If you want to earn the trust of the Black community and want our support, start by fully supporting us. Give us an equal bite at the apple and level the playing field. Then, you might just stand a chance at earning back the trust that has been destroyed at your own hands.

Speak to me America.

Historically Misled

I know that most of my real articles are lightly liked and not as read as the great sex pieces I write, but damn it, it’s time to get history out there whether you like it or not. So, White folks these next few articles might not make you happy, or if you’re real, it might make you want to see what you can do to help enact change.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately and having substantive discussions with some intelligent Black men and I’m seeing just how much White American distorted history in order to protect their fragile egos and psyches. I’m also seeing just how under reported and discussed in mainstream media the success of Black entrepreneurs were in the history of this nation. I’m realizing just how much they distorted historical facts and misled the facts in order to protect the narrative they wanted to tell. Did you know that Black people have been running successful businesses in this country dating back to the Antebellum Colonial period? Did you also know that that overwhelming majority of the Capitalist system that this country has used to become a super power was ripped off from African and West African civilization and culture? The history and literature is quite definitive in telling stories how Anglo Saxons, aka White Europeans, selectively choose the slaves they wanted to bring over in the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. They had done sufficient business with Africans to know which region of African people were skilled at developing rice, tobacco, and cotton fields. They knew who were the intellectuals and who were the skilled laborers. They were tactful in making sure to separate the intelligent Africans from the unintelligent. In other words, they stripped Africans of their culture and identity when they brought them to this country and used them to establish their dominance.

Now, let me also say this, I’m not furthering the narrative that African Americans were simply overwhelmed and outsmarted by Europeans in the Slave trade, Africans controlled the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, as well as other regions of the Slave trade. A majority of the Slaves sold, were people who were Indentured Servants and also people who became Slaves to different tribes as a result of fighting wars with other tribes and being defeated. Also of note, Europeans weren’t allowed inland very much in Africa. In order to get their slaves they were taken from inland regions to the coast, where the Europeans waited to get them loaded onto their boats and continuing their journey. See this history is being given to you because the narrative coming out of this country for hundreds of years to justify slavery was that Black people were savages and animals. That they couldn’t be counted on to be civilized and productive members of society. That they didn’t have an understanding of business and how to run one. Well, just from the examples provided all those lies are negated.

So let this sink in for a minute. Historical evidence shows that pre-colonial Africa and West Africa operated under a system of Capitalism. Individual wealth was encouraged, but they kept a sense of community or the collective whole, in order to make sure no one was left behind. So Capitalism mixed with the idea of Collectivism. What an amazing concept. Does it sound a little familiar? The American system is just hyper Capitalism with a lesser focus on the Collective whole. The programs that were made to include the “whole”, were originally made for just the White people in this country and excluded all Black people. It is amazing to see just how intentional the White community has been, and to some degree, still is in making sure their narrative of history is the one that is permeated in the minds of everyone in this country,

For reference material, I will give you three books to read and there will be more examples of literature you can read to give you more details.. the first is: The History Of Black Business in America Capitalism, Race, Entrepreneurship Second Edition Volume 1 to 1965, the second is The Color of Money Black Banks and the Racial Wealth Gap, and Entrepreneurship and Self-Help Among Black Americans. These three books are fantastic reads. They help to present information that will begin to challenge the historical disinformation and misinformation given by the U.S. Government and media alike. You will learn about Black people who were great businessmen and businesswomen. You will learn just how intelligent and thrifty Black people were in opening businesses, maintaining them and doing their best to pass them down to their family and friends in the face of extreme racism and prejudice. You will see just how much the U.S. Government was apart of the problem and contributed to the severe wealth gap and lack of advancement opportunities for Black people. You will also get to see how White America had to continue to change the narrative as to why Slavery, and Jim Crow, and Racism was needed at all.

Once you read, and do supplemental reading to understand how perverse and focused the efforts to belittle and disenfranchise Afro-Americans was, you will understand better why reparations is something that should be a must for all of the African American community today as a result of the harsh, cruel and unusual punishment implemented due to Slavery and Jim Crow. You will see how Southern White people controlled the conversation around equality and racism and prejudice more than talked about in history. You will also see just how complicit the North was in perpetuating this sham of a economic, political and human practice. The North was just as racist and discriminatory as the South was. The biggest difference was that they weren’t lynching Black people nearly as often and they made half-hearted attempts at giving equal opportunity to Black people, but they never truly stood up to their White Southern counterparts and they were just as eager to keep Blacks out of the mainstream American economy as they were.

More and more as I read and discuss and understand, I realize that we are still living today in a modified version of old days in this country. Things are marginally better, but the housing market is still unfavorable for Blacks, the inner cities in many places are still underserved and lack development. Blacks still don’t have full access to credit and infrastructure as needed. There still aren’t sufficient Black banks that serve the Black community. Large scale Black businesses are still lacking and not given fair competitive opportunities in this country. For centuries this country has said that Black people weren’t equal because we were savages, because we weren’t intelligent, because we didn’t understand business, because God created us as the inferior race. Yet, in history it’s shown that not only are we equal, but when given a fair shot or even a shot at developing our own in this country not only do we thrive, but we typically out perform the White counterparts in those industries.

This is just part one of this, stay tuned part two continues with more details and information for you think about. But think about this as you have read this blog.. How much do you really care for the well being of your fellow man or woman? If you really want to contribute to the cause of full equality, what are you willing to sacrifice in order to achieve equality?

When In Doubt Follow the Money

I recently read a story that matched what I have been thinking for quite a while now, and it is finally coming to a head. The President and most of his White liberal allies, have no intention to truly protect the right to vote. In order words, they used the message of true voting equality and working to secure the free and fair right of every Black vote to be cast and counted, in order to secure their place in power in this country, while leaving us behind. The summary of the article I read essentially comes down to these points: when the Republican Party was still a party that courted the Black vote, resulting from Lincoln being responsible for bringing the formal end of slavery and hundreds of years of Republicans advocating for Black people, decided they wanted to make change they abandoned the Black community and made way for the decades long Jim Crow era in American history. The abdication of their responsibility and the still reeling Southern, White South allowed for some of the most restricting voting laws to be enacted until activists grew tired and the Civil Right Movement ushered in the current voting situation that we see today.

Now here we are all these years later and the roles have flipped but the actions are still the same and it appears that the results could be too, just in a slightly different manner. In today’s political world, Democrats are the party of support for the Black cause. They have spent decades relying on our support to usher candidates into office and keep others in there. We have made sure that White people of all ages and backgrounds have gotten into office in places they didn’t necessarily think possible. We made way for the first Black President in this country. We, in part, kept the country from having the first Woman President ever, because partly we didn’t believe she truly cared about the regular guy. We decided to revive the political career of the current President and in turn, bring more history with Kamala Harris, the nations First Black Woman Vice President, being elected. We delivered the U.S. Senate to Democrats as turned out in droves in Georgia to bring home both of those U.S. Senate seats in the Democrats column. Time and again, when needed to deliver political victory Black people are expected to help Democrats and the White liberal left get that victory.

So once again we follow through on our task. We delivered the White House and the both Chambers of Congress. Now, those Republicans that we spent days and hours voting to defeat, have finished licking their wounds and are setting their sights on ways to make voting more difficult. More importantly, they are figuring out ways to take control of the rooms where the votes go to get counted. They are taking control of the elections process, so they can change votes if they don’t like the outcome, and President Biden and most of his allies aren’t doing a fucking thing about it. It was a concern I’ve been thinking about for quite a while and one that in private conversations I’ve talked about plenty. He isn’t truly a liberal politician. He has some liberal beliefs and policies, but he at his core a moderate who believes in Institutional process. Those beliefs have led us to a crossroads of sorts and it appears the same trend is following. All those years back when Republicans could have strengthened voting rights for Black people, they shifted to focusing on Infrastructure. Something they could build “bipartisan” support for. They would improve American bridges and trails and roads. Make things better for everyday people, which would in turn make the voting rights issue less critical.

The truth is it just allowed for the ball to be dropped and draconian laws to be made that disenfranchised Black people and made it so hard for us to vote. Well, enter 2021 and we’re seeing the rise of Jim Crow style voting laws again. And the response from the leaders inside the White House, and some on Capitol Hill, seems to be that they would rather try for the money win on “bipartisan” legislation rather than fully support the two bills that are already passed in the House of Representatives, awaiting Senate approval. Not only have they not provided any alternate options that could garner support, they just speak of the importance for their to be voting security, but never going the lengths needed to get there. Biden, the ever practical politician, doesn’t want to carve up the filibuster to achieve the goal. The same way he did in order to get that last stimulus package passed. Instead, he gives this bullshit answer that removing it would throw the Senate into chaos. Let’s be honest, the fucking Senate has been in chaos since the Democrats lost control during the midterms when Obama was in office. It hasn’t been truly decent and in order since then.

McConnell and the rest of the Senate Republicans have bent the rules, changed the rules and played legislative hard ball to make sure that only what they want gets done and Democrats have to fight like hell just to get a seat to the table. And now, even though the Senate has a 50-50 split, Democrats have control and will not wield the power they command. Because if we’re being honest, if the Republicans had full control of the White House and Senate, shit would be totally different. They would be using whatever tools possible to get their agenda through that they cared about. This was my fear when we voted in November and it is coming to light as we speak. That Joe Biden, the elder statesman, would try to prove that he could govern the nation. Moving from a Center left position and that the critical issues that ailed us would be tackled from a joint effort. That type of dumb ass thinking is why we sit here with all these Republican controlled states passing laws that allow them to take control of the elections process if they don’t like the results. It allows them to remove early voting areas and make it harder to have absentee ballot voting. We are watching as state after state make surgical cuts at voting rights and voting equality in this country. And Biden is choosing to avert attention from that in a ways that could turn the tide.

Yes, he gave one speech in Philly about the importance of passing those two critical bills that would bring back some concrete support and give some uniformity to the elections process. Things we desperately need in this country, but that Biden is refusing to fully support. And those White, liberal allies are going lock step with Biden as we speak. They don’t see how urgent it is to get this situation resolved so they want the thing to get Republicans on their side for this fleeting moment. I always wondered why we as a people, choose to continue to support the Old White establishment guard in this country, instead of the diverse coalition that we are, that makes up the Democratic party. Why don’t we have more U.S. Senators men and women of color? Why aren’t there more Black Women US Senators? Out of 100 Senators only 3 are black and none of them are women. Just let that sink in for a moment. And you wonder why Black people are so hesitant to really support politicians. Even when they heavily court our vote and make promises that they will finally tackle Prison Reform, Criminal Justice Reform, Education Reform, Voting Rights Reform, we rarely get the full throated changes they profess. Usually it’s not done at all, or what is done, really doesn’t address the root issue. It’s some small surface level achievement that looks like shit, but disguised as major.

So here we are again and it appears that we are going to have to deal with the same shit as usual. White men sticking together truly for White men. If we really want change, we’re going to have to take it. We’re going to have to vote for some new blood, that truly wants to advance an agenda that helps the every day person, and most specifically, the every day black man. Hold these people accountable, make them honor their words or vote there asses out.

Help Wanted : Old White Men and Women

Yes, I know some may see that title and have some biased thoughts, but hell I don’t really care. It is something that I really think is both positive and also stymieing as well. In any other profession, once you get older to the point that you are clearly slowing down, you are given the room to end your career and your replacement is identified, if not already in the company preparing to replace you. It’s not something that the company is doing to be disrespectful, but it is an acknowledgement that, while you may still be productive as you get older, there comes a point when your skills are not as sharp as they once were and there is someone else who has a fresher take, a sharper mind who has the ability to do the job just as good, if not better, than what you did. Now this post isn’t meant to disparage the older working folks, but it is to draw attention to and heighten awareness of the need for change in the American political system.

Lets think about this for a minute. We had the most diverse field ever for the Democratic nomination for President and we wound up choosing the old ass White man to be the party leader. Am I saying that he wasn’t a good choice? No, I’m not. Am I saying he was the right choice for the moment? Possibly so. I’m not really convinced that another candidate couldn’t have done just as well as Biden has thus far into his short presidency. But, it is startling to know that we had, both, Black men and women, an Asian American and Latin X American running for President and they were all soundly beaten. We had an older White woman as well, who made it down to the end before it became a battle between very aged White men to battle it out for the nomination. Oh, and let’s not forget we also had the first Openly gay, and married, White man running for the nomination. So many different choices with varying degrees of experience and bold ideas to make this country reimagined in the likeness that it really should be at this point. And with all these options, we watched as the media beat up on these fresh candidates. They questioned Kamala unlike they did Biden or Bernie. They showed little love to Cory Booker, even though he presented himself as a candidate in the mold of former President Barack Obama.

Lets take it a step further to really understand just how startling and insane, in my opinion this is. If you look at the Congressional makeup of the U.S Congress, the majority of its members are old, White people. Now I get it, there is great value in having people with experience in positions of great power within any government, but damn. I mean, can we get Congress members who are at least in their 50s, 60s and not necessarily in their 70s and 80s. I mean, I’m going to be honest, that’s a little bit absurd. It’s not to suggest that these elder American aren’t valuable and contributable folks, we know they are. And it isn’t to suggest that they all have lost a step or two, or that their mental faculties aren’t intact, but it is scientifically proven that at that age, you aren’t as sharp and attune as when you’re anywhere from ten to thirty years younger. It seems to be that Democrats, in particular, have a problem voting out some of these older folks and allow a youth movement to take over the party and push us fully into the next era of American politics. And Republicans, you aren’t far behind in your clinginess to the diaper booty crew. Leaders are to be commended for wanting to serve their country well into their twilight years, but let’s be honest, they aren’t exactly doing it because they aren’t extremely well compensated and pampered.

It’s disappointing honestly, because these people just look at the polling data and adapt their verbiage to meet that of their constituents in the moment that they’re in for that political season. I honestly don’t believe, and it’s been reported on extensively, that much of what these politicians say they don’t even believe. But, because of what districts or states they represent, they have to talk a certain language in order for them to keep their office. This usually results in the same bullshit happening, which is very little gets done and the power stays where it is. White elites and old ass Whites with the control and all other races and ethnicities of color fighting to get that truly equal footing and seat at the table. Funny, we have the nations first African American Vice President, who is also of Asian decent, and she is criticized for everything she does, no matter what it is. And the former President and Vice President were given more get out of jail passes than in a game of Monopoly. The sad truth is American Infrastructure has sucked for the past 15 years at least and these same old people haven’t done a damn thing about it. Our Education system is a sham and corrupt, but they haven’t done nearly enough to repair and fix those problem. Our justice system is still a shit show and they haven’t done nearly enough to fix that. Our voting system looks like it’s teetering on the brink of collapse and they damn sure aren’t doing anything about that.

So I ask all of my fellow voting eligible American, what the fuck are we doing? Why do we just blindly keep electing the same people to office, to do the same damn thing. Why aren’t we investing in the new candidates that are coming up. Those who have platforms that will target those issues that are critical to our community and ourselves. You know, it really seems to settle on a couple of factors for me. One, people really want to protect what they have and limit the exposure they have to the unknown. And two, money will always be the root that destroys the best efforts if it impinges on the money the White man wants to make in order to retain their mental dominance over the rest of the ethnicities. One day, we will get tired of this shit and we will be ready for a true Young, American revolution. Where the next generation comes in and takes over from the old, usher in some new changes and make things better for us all. Only time will tell when that happens though.

Remember What Matters

Often times I’ve shied away from writing too many political blogs for a number of reasons. One, everyone seems to have some sort of opinion and the discussions always turn too extreme; two, I like to try to focus on things that are a little more intimate with your daily life situations. But, I also have to remember that politics is really an extension of daily life, just controlled mostly by old White men who talk in circles and don’t really do shit to solve the real problems. I’m amazed at the level of vitriol spewed by the mostly White congress, that Vice President Kamala Harris didn’t visit the Southern Texas border, as if her appearance will cause something to change immediately. It’s like they forget that their policies in regards for foreign aid to those impoverished nations to our South are in part responsible for the crisis that we have. When we try to give significant aid to those countries in order to help them build their own economies and countries, those entitled White men, usually bitch and complain, get control and strip away the amount of funding we give them. And they wonder why we constantly have this issue of hundreds of thousands of immigrants willing to take the journey to American borders for freedom.

Lets take what I just said and break this down into what happened this year. We had throngs of mostly White, prejudiced, some racist Americans raid the United States Capitol in the name of former President Donald Trump. They committed Insurrection. They committed Treason against this nation and those same entitled and prickly White men have done their damnedest to rewrite the narrative of that day. They tell you that it was nothing more than a normal tour of the Capitol. They say that all they was peacefully protest the results of the fairest, most secure election in American history. That’s the bullshit they want you to believe. Never mind that they found bombs outside both the Democratic and Republican National committees. Lets also not forget that they severely brutalized police officers that day. They found ammunition to the level that it would have done significant damage if they had the chance to use those weapons. They destroyed and defaced the Capitol. They broke into the offices of the Congress men and women and destroyed their offices. They potentially had access to sensitive, classified information. They tried to stop us from certifying and ratifying the fairly contested election.

And if that isn’t enough, since the inauguration Republicans all over this country have gone full sail to restrict Black people mostly, and brown people from having easy access to voting. Why is that so important? Because we all know that this country is not a White mans country anymore. This country is diverse and more colored that it is White. More progressive and diverse views are prevalent in this country and that means those old, tired White men are worried because they’re aware that the more people who vote, the less likely they get to hold on to the power and that means they don’t get to keep fucking this country up. I have a question, why are so many Republicans worried about Kamala Harris visiting the border, but they’re concerned with our bridges crumbling, our roads being all fucked up, we still have relatively slow ass train and rail service. Why are we still vastly underpaying teachers in this country. Why do they get so upset when we discuss cancelling student loan debt? Money that keeps people struggling for years and years. They care soo much about the Education system becoming more equal by teaching true American history. But, they don’t care about all the schools that still don’t have enough textbooks, that don’t have strong support systems for public schools.

Rich ass White people in that party care more about saving businesses from paying taxes and the uber rich, more than they care about making sure the American people can have true living wages. It’s dumb as fuck that so many people believe that Republicans are actually for the average American person. While at times they seem to stumble into supporting policies and legislation that work more for the middle class, regular person than the rich elite, it is far more likely that they’re going to do everything possible to protect their own. Meaning rich men and women like them and not the average person, or the Black person struggling to get to the next level in life. Maybe one day we will wake up and elect officials who really want to make this place better for the regular guy. Who wants to initiate policies that make so much sense that they won’t do it because it would upset their money train.

As I close this out, let us not forget what is really important. We have an Ozone that we’re burning through. We have global warming getting worse and worse. We have a public school system that is under attack and vastly underserving it’s students on the whole. We have laws passed that are restricting the ease of voting for people of color. We still have elements of Jim Crow at work all throughout the South. We have our highways, bridges and railways crumbling and lagging behind. We have a completely rigged tax code that favors rich people. We still have police unnecessarily killing, murdering Black people. We still have a justice system that isn’t working for all. We still have corporations charging more for their products and services, but not raising wages sufficiently. We still have a government that would rather keep wages suppressed, rather than making wages more livable. All these things and more are present, and a lot of them would have you thinking that Critical Race Theory is the most pressing issue of the day. That people being woke and attune to the social injustices are the most important. Remember what matters and what’s really important.
