Holiday Rollercoaster

This year, as has been said millions of times, is unlike any other. We are dealing with something that we’ve never dealt with before. We are living through times where we have no idea of what will happen during the day we are living in, let alone what the next day will bring. We’re having more people die than what usually die. We’re losing loved ones and able to fully mourn them because of this pandemic. Many of us, airing on the side of caution, are not with our families this year but doing things separately. We are experiencing things that we never thought we would and yet we try to figure out how to handle mourning the loved ones we lost.

This year has been difficult for me on a number of fronts. The least of which is dealing with the loss of two family members. I lost one of my favorite cousins this April and I lost my Aunt just days before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately I was unable to be present for either of their funerals or to grieve with my family because of the restrictions related to Covid-19. There are countless people out there like me. Having people they know and love die and all they can do is mourn from a distance. It’s one of the hardest things to do in this current climate. It makes you hard pressed to find peace, happiness or joy. hard to get in a mindset to have Thankful mind.

For so long the start of the holiday season usually signals the easing of tensions for most. A majority tend to find their better angels and behave accordingly. Often times, people are looking to be more generous and kind, and while all those things are present this year, there is definitely a fatigue and exhaustion from dealing with the effects of this pandemic. People have lost their jobs and haven’t found one to replace it. People have gotten sick and didn’t have money to get appropriate healthcare. People are watching loved ones struggle and continue to struggle with no real end in sight. Hungry and some homeless this holiday season isn’t one that makes it easy to say Give Thanks.

Then you really to remember what being Thankful means. You have to really sit and consider your own life and whether there are things in it that you are grateful for. If you have family that is living that you have a relationship with. If you have children that are in touch with you. If you have friends that you lean on and laugh with. If you have a job or career that you can still go to. If you have your own peace when you walk into your place that you rest your head, then you have reasons to give thanks. If you are able to do everything on and for yourself then you need to give thanks. Those blessings are things that you can’t take for granted either.

It’s hard to do but it’s something that needs to be done. Find that warmth, find that love and find that care and peace. Please remember that we’re all going through challenges and the more we can show the love and be the love that we want to receive. Only then we can try to mourn and recover together. Peace, love and blessings to all.

The System is Broken

I have really sat back and thought about this and it is my conclusion. I think that what really needs to happen to the system is it needs to be torn down and rebuilt. For hundreds of years now it has been skewed towards the White people in this country and I really don’t see anything coming that will reset the balance to be equal. I know some may think that the incremental changes made are steps in the right direction, and on the one hand they are. However, I also feel that it’s not enough because it can’t really help to do what’s needed. That is to reconstruct the mind and souls of the Black community. My community is torn and struggling because the fabric and foundation of who were are was ripped from us by the White community and we haven’t recovered since.

Here is my honest truth about all of this. First of all, being Black in this country is a dominant trait. When genealogy has been done, it has been determined that the African American race is the dominant trait, and because White Americans weren’t able to simulate to that, they had to become the oppressive race because they are the recessive trait. If you aren’t sure what word recessive means, it means that it is not the predominant trait. It means that when White people and Black people create a baby together, that child is melaninated. It means that contrary to what some would have us believe, the White race is not superior to Black people. Truth is that Black people have the dominant gene and in most cases the superior race. We have created so many of the inventions attributed to White people, but the victors get to write history.

The facts are when people want entertainment, they turn to the Black community for athletes and musicians to be their relaxation and enjoyment. When they need things repaired correctly, they turn to Black people. When they need their children raised and their food cooked, they turn to Black people. When they want their hair done stylishly and healthy they come to Black people. It seems to be that the system is willing to admit that Black people are talented and in most cases, superior to their White counterparts, but we’re not talented enough to be widespread business leaders, to be owners of professional franchises, to be heads of state and leaders of government. Similarly the legal system doesn’t take even handed to us either.

I wonder why it is that the same crimes can be committed by a Black man and a White man, yet the Black man is infinitely times more likely to get a severe punishment, while the White man might not even get any jail time at all. I wonder why it is that money can buy you anything in the legal system. That definitely disproportionately affects Black people because we weren’t given the same opportunities to acquire wealth, nor have generational wealth to pass down from one generation to the next. You wonder why it is that when we were brought here as slaves we were oppressed and kept uneducated so we could not realize that we were being robbed of our culture and wealth. That’s the reason that the young were typically separated and kept without education, because it was known that if you educate the young it passes down and then we aren’t able to kept ignorant and in the dark.

Fast forward to all the marches, protests, sit-ins, boycotts and fights for us to get a measure of equality in this country. They were all for the right to have the same seat at the table as the White man who controlled the levers of power in this nation. From King to Malcolm to Lewis to Young to Obama and all those before, during and after that helped to organize those marches and protests to conquer the systemic inequalities of hundreds of years of captivity. The reality is that no matter how much we march and protest, we will not achieve the goal. There will never be nationwide reparations for Black people to fairly restore the financial balance of power. There will never be a true reset of principles taught to underscore the importance of family, togetherness, wealth, education and equality.

What Slavery did was permanently separate the races. It defined Black people as inherently inferior to Whites. It also created a permanent stigma that we must fight against each other for who should be given opportunity, instead of fighting alongside each other to attain power together. What White people correctly gaged that if you split people up and throw nominal amounts of money at them that they will lose sight of the power of togetherness they possess. That has been prevalent for us as a people for hundreds of years. Whenever Black America comes together and uses its power to effect change, change happens. Whenever Black American decides that we want to show what our collective might can do, we do it. It’s just that far too often, White people do enough to make us stay in the lanes they made for us.

Here is my solution.. blow this damn system up. Take away all that we know and write a system that is truly equal. A system that doesn’t have systemic racism and prejudice built into its founding. A Constitution that really treats all people as equals. Laws that are equally enforced on both sides and a justice system that doles out punishment, but also has mercy built in as it’s supposed to do. Build the levers of finance so that Black people have opportunity to be business owners and have the capital necessary to sustain business and obtain loans as needed. A system that allows for us to really have our history taught in schools and throughout civilization. Then and only then will this system be fair and equal. Then and only then will we have a system that appreciates the prowess, power, intellect, and collective strength of the Black community.

As long as we are bound to a system of inherit inequality, we will always be subjected to racist and prejudicial situations. Radical thought I know, but truth to power it is. Blow this damn system up and start again. Maybe then, we will be able to say that the system isn’t rigged. That law enforcement isn’t practicing discriminatory practices against my people. Tell me what you think.

Insta/Snap/Book Influencer

Yea if you on social media then you are likely to know what these apps are. Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook. And I can’t forget Twitter either. All of these social media vices are where most of the country absorbs it’s content. From news to sports to entertainment to social activities and events. Social media has become the largest influence over society. Print Media and Television media have become second and third in whatever order you want, but their importance has definitely diminished as instant news and idealist news has become the it thing in society. When you can have someone who looks like you and talks like you deliver what you think is the news. It’s usually their slant on what’s going on in the world and more specifically the country we live in.

It’s gone so far that now we have people labeling themselves as influencers. What does it mean when you call yourself that? More important what does it mean when a generation of people believe it without questioning the source or the validity of such a claim? It means that we are living is a bit of dangerous times. Social media as a whole is and has been a positive. It allows for people to unite far quicker than needing to call and get people in place. It allows for messages to be disseminated to the masses quickly and efficiently. It allows for you to find someone that you need to find, for people to memorialize themselves without having to pay lots of money to do so. It allows for people to be discovered without sacrificing their livelihoods to do so. All positives and things that have helped move us forward as a society.

However, it has also come with a great cost. It has allowed for social media thugs. People that pretend they’re hard or living a tough life, while really they are the total opposite. It allows for an alarmingly high rate of bullying, especially among teens. That has led to far too many deaths because of these hurtful actions. It had lead to pressures of having sex earlier than one wants, just to fit in with the crowd. It has led to people fighting and being killed over the go live culture. People who need to feed their egos and fan the flames rather than put them out. There are so many things that social media has been used for that is unhealthy and it has been used for many helpful things as well,

What it means is that the more that people, societies and cultures gravitate towards this vice for business and personal use, it is incumbent upon us to be more respectful and thoughtful. We all know someone who has benefited from the rise of social media and someone or people who have been hurt and as a result of social media. While we will never fully remove the negatives that are associated with social use, we can definitely control how much we allow people to attempt to tear each other down. Remember that even though you can’t be “seen” doesn’t mean you are all powerful. Consequences come with everything that we do, both good and bad. So with the rise of the influencer title, comes a rise in responsibility.

If that is something that you don’t want to assume, responsibility that is, then don’t label yourself as a influencer and don’t seek that mantle. Truth it that is millions of people out here looking for someone to believe in. Someone that will speak to them in a way they understand and can relate to. Someone who may be able to relate to their life and maybe help better their life and in some cases save their life. There is more to social media than just crystalizing a moment, or shaking ya ass for the camera or mike dropping on somebody. It is also to inform, connect, build, and inform. So choose your social media outlets wisely, Whether you know it or not, whatever you indulge in is influencing what you believe in and the view you take on things.

Be smart, be wise social media influence is on the rise.

Religious Masters

You know I really wonder just how is it that White and Black people see God so differently and yet the same in many ways? I don’t know if it’s the theology being taught, or if it’s the history of religion that makes the two races have similar and differing places from which they come from. I thought about this because I was watching a movie yesterday and the characters were all white. The main antagonists were heavily religious zealots who felt that they were doing God’s will by abducting and killing young White women. It’s a concept that I have seen in almost every single movie where religion is the main plot and the focal characters are white.

I sat and wondered to myself why is this the case. Why is it that when I watch a Black movie about faith, there is a rigidity there but it’s also an undertone of love and compassion for following the rules of God. And then a wrath or a damning if you don’t follow what that person sees as God’s will. White people, their movies always say that one or two characters are the conduits for God. They’ve been spoken to and told to do harm to others who are devils or devil worshippers in order to please God and secure their place in heaven. When you think about that, to me that isn’t what God is all about. It shouldn’t be what religion is all about either, but unfortunately it is. Religion is suppose to be about guidance and togetherness. Bringing people the gospel and letting them decide how to incorporate it into their lives.

Both of these paths though, have tenants that I reject, and is why I am a Spiritual Christian not a Religious Christian. I believe that there is a gang like mentality to Religious people. They don’t want to accept people who aren’t like them. That don’t walk and breathe like they do when it comes to the God and scripture. I am very despondent as a Black, Gay male because people are so quick to want to take that Bible and castigate me if I don’t subscribe to some kind of Exorcism to take the gay away from me. This premise is stupid in every way to me. You know people keep saying that Gay is this major sin and so on, but there have been Gay people on this planet since the beginning of time. So what does that mean? Because to these Bible toting Christians God created it all and hates Gay people. But answer me this if God created all and knows all, then God created Gays and we should be accepted.

It is something that has split families and households apart because there is religious rigidity that seems to settle in amongst the religious folks. Like they’re the only ones who are right. Like they have all the answers. It’s as though they forget about the fact that they’re human and the only perfect being is God, who created the son Jesus. How are we to ever assume that in all situations we have the answers just because we are religious believers of Christ. If you read in the text it doesn’t say that at all. It doesn’t say that you are always correct or you always have the high ground because you base your bias or prejudice on the text. It is in times like these that we should be looking to the text for what it really is, a guide and a blueprint. It provides some structures and foundations upon which we should operate and conduct ourselves.

The Bible gives you moral and philosophical basis from which you can take lessons and grow towards. The text also preaches about love for each other and respect for each other. Yes it gives things that also shouldn’t be done and it also tells of things that shouldn’t be done when rebuilding a society and that grown men shouldn’t be sleeping with children. These are the places that we should be building from and understanding that religion is to be a common gathering ground. It’s suppose to be a way for people who believe in God and Christ to come together to bond spiritually, not act like thugs and judges and determine who is deserved of the love of God.

Some point in time we will finally realize that faith is something that should be a uniting thing and not a diving thing. From television shows to movies to real life, religion is always painted in a oxymoronic position. It serves to be the judge for some in terms of people they don’t agree with or feel represent God, but then it serves as their moral compass and compassion for when they want to try to reach out and bridge a divide created unnecessarily. How about we change the way we use religion and think about it. Use it for the purpose of love and support, growth and togetherness. Then we can possibly bring more souls closer to God.

Say Their Names

As we sit here a little more than 60 days out from the election I’m concerned that people are forgetting what happened 4 years ago. Many people wrote off Donald Trump and elitist Democrats took too many states for granted and we got the worst President of a lifetime in the White House. Four years later it seems that a little has been learned but not much. We still don’t see the candidate pushing hard enough on the issues that will help them win. Pushing that there is abuse in the policing, the justice system is biased, racism is still present and systemic, the economy is in the shits for most people and this pandemic is fucking this nation up.

All these things are issues that should be pressed on a daily basis and they aren’t being done. We need to step up the attack lines and remind people just how terrible it has been and how much worse it will get if he gets four more years in office. Lets focus a little more on this Black Lives Matter situation. I said in my title to say their names. It’s serious because I want you to be able to understand just how horrible this situation is. There was a March on Washington this weekend, there are protests in Wisconsin, still protests in Portland, there were protests here in Atlanta this weekend. It’s coming quickly and over and over but Jesus this isn’t enough. So right now I want to say their names.. Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, George Floyd, Jacob Blake, Admaud Arbery, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Trayford Pellerin. The list is far longer than this. The names just as important as these. But these are the names that have energized movements more and more because of the videos seen. Because of the outright disbelief in the stories told. Innocent black people, not being violent, not being criminal, and yet they were killed.

Justice for my brothers and sisters still hasn’t come and it appears it never will. This is the thing that continues to be talked about and action continues to be demanded for. We are looking for equality in the system. We are looking for police to be held accountable. we are looking for justice to equate to what we expect to see. Time and time again we sit here and we wonder when will it end. When will we get equal justice under the law for us. When will we get police held accountable for their brutality and misuse of force. Amber Guyger, one of the few officers held to account for murdering a black man in cold blood, when she went into Botham Jean’s apartment and shot him dead, he was unarmed by the way. She still only got a ten year sentence for her crime.

Can you imagine if that were reversed. If that was a black officer who killed a white man. That officer wouldn’t have been given mercy or leniency. They would have been sentenced to life without parole. They would have been crucified by the media and White America. But here she was with people begging for grace and mercy for her. Botham’s brother forgiving her as we are always asked to do, when our people are killed. Injustice that should be corrected. You wonder why we are outraged and tired of the system. All of these situations aren’t necessary. You have white people that have killed innocent black people taken to get food. You have a White teenager who kills people and he was not vilified. Why is this the case in this country still?

Stand for this movement, stand for decency. Stand for change. It is time to put leaders in positions that will help the cause. Leaders that will pass legislation to rewrite the penal code to be more fair and just. Change the rules for law enforcement so brutality isn’t permitted and accountability will be held. Time for change. Time to remove the status quo. Trump and all need to go. New President, different congressional leaders. Stand up and make a demand for change. So I say again.. Say Their Names. Justice must be done.

The Week Sports Took A Stand

As a black man, I’m so proud of the statement that was made this week by the NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL and WTA. Due to the great courage and leadership of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, sports stopped and athletes said that they will not continue to be marginalized and ignored. Black athletes said that they will no longer entertain the masses on television and be killed in cold blood in the streets. I’ve heard many people say well what did that accomplish. The answer is it accomplished a lot. It made the world stop and ask why. It caused the issues of police brutality and racial inequality take forefront once again. It brought some of the families of some of these black people who have been murdered by police back into the spot light.

We got another march on Washington today. We got more actionable items by sports franchises, including voter registration and calls to legislators in their states. More conversation on the demands to be made and those demands becoming more crystal clear. Demanding new legislation to tackle the police unions, legislation to address racial inequality in the justice system, rooting out prejudicial and racist police officers. All these things are necessary if we are going to advance the cause and movement for equality. These are the things that happened as a result of the athletes taking a stand and refusing to play games on television. So if you think their boycotts did nothing, well I guess your view is a little narrow.

The women of the WNBA have taken it even a higher level and it has to be applauded. It’s a shame that because their game isn’t as popular that their messages aren’t seen as much, but they are just as powerful. They have taken a stand and refuse to not be heard. This to me is exactly what should happen. Entertainment is not more important than lives. Black lives are just as important and critical as the black athletes that entertain you night after night. They give all they have so you can be distracted from the daily grind, but you won’t respect their views and lives when they’re off the court or if they’re not entertaining you. Enough is enough. This has been a watershed week and one that will never be forgotten.

This is the time to continue to put pressure and energy on this issue. Voting in two months on November 3 is so critical. No exceptions and no excuses. No need to try and say that there is nothing in it for you because that’s a lie. Your future is at risk. Your equality and freedoms are at risk. When will we say that it can no longer be about ignoring what’s difficult. For all you people who are tired of hearing about this subject, close your damn ears, shut your eyes or just go somewhere else. You’re probably the same people that give lip service about supporting the movement but don’t really want change. Or maybe you’re the people who are happy with how things are now, because it favors you and your family and people so this struggle isn’t relevant to you.

If you can’t understand why this shouldn’t and won’t go away anytime soon, maybe you need to sit down and listen more closely. Maybe you need to find some black people and talk to them about why we’re demanding equality and justice. I will not stop writing about the issue. No matter whether it gets may clicks and views or no clicks and views, I will continue to memorialize my thoughts and feelings. So when history is written, my children and grandchildren and generations of my family yet to be born can know that I was here and that I stood for something relevant and important to my people. That I have done my part voting and engaging in the process.

The message from the week that was is stand up and stand for something. Don’t let your actions be dictated for you or to you, dictate what you do. Change is something that never happens overnight. Grand scale change happens day by day. With little steps and big steps. It starts with a call to action and ends with tangible action. We are in the midst of change, don’t stop, won’t stop.

Unquestioned Trust

I was watching a documentary on Netflix yesterday and something that was said by one of the folks really stuck in my brain and caused me to really ponder this question.. Why do so many people blindly trust law enforcement? The court system blindly trusts that all cops are good and are going to honorably represent the shield that they wear. They assume that all cops will protect and serve as their creed states, when in reality, they are human and some have other motives, and some very vicious. You have some who are secret Klansmen and others who are private racists or prejudicial. You have people who have a superiority complex and feel that others are beneath them. These traits are not conducive to good policing. Yet, they are tasked with running investigations when crimes are committed, assuming they will be fair and unbaised.

Why also, are we so trusting of judges as well? They too are human beings, capable of being brought or having predetermined notions that are not upholding to the judicial code of ethics or the oaths they take to blindly execute the laws of the land. We place unchecked trust in these individuals, and when things happen that are overt against the intentions of the laws and justice, we don’t seem to have an efficient and effective system in place to correct the errors and mistakes made. Primarily, because that human element kicks in and those same judges and cops don’t want to admit they were wrong. That they erred in judgment. Which leaves innocent people trapped in the system locked away. It can lead to innocent men and women being convicted of crimes.

This post is calling out the 10 percent. Not the ninety percent. Yes, it is my belief that 10 percent of judges and cops are crooked, in one way or the other. They don’t have the best intentions of their residents in mind, they have their own agendas in mind. They have ax’s they want to grind and they do so, under the guise of justice, under the premise of the law. It is difficult enough to just be a person and not have trouble find you. But imagine being someone that the law officials deem beneath them. Imagine being a race or class of people that they don’t respect. What do you do then? One wrong step, one coincidence that goes against you and you could be giving up the rest of your freedom or your life.

Why don’t we have a system in place to review judicial actions? That will review police activity to ensure that the communities that these people serve are being evenly and justly represented? Would it require time and effort? Yes it would, But isn’t that the point. Things that you care about and mean something to you, you’re willing to devote the time and effort needed for it to be right. Reform is complicated but it is also kind of simple. You can appoint or elect people to provide a check and balance on authority. Elections need to be every two years, to make sure that no one gets too comfortable. Qualifications need to be simple and easy to attain, as to not leave anyone out. Common sense things that will make people feel safer and more valued in their communities. Would bring a sense of trust and nobility to the process of enforcing justice.

Again, I really want people to think about this and just have some conversations within your circle or even on this comment section. Why do you blindly trust police? Why do you blindly trust the courts?

Black Women Magic

If you’ve read my posts you know that I’m unapologetically political and proudly pro Black people. I have ventured away from that a little because it seems the viewership dips when I deal with those real issues so I’ve dealt with matters of love, the heart and relationships because I think that too, is just a big a part of the dynamic playing out across the country and world as politics. But with todays historic announcement, I’m back in bed with devil that brought me here.. LOL. Politics and black people!!

Congratulations Kamala Harris, and damn good job Joe Biden!! For the first time in American history we have a Black woman on the ticket as Vice President nominee for a major party. Do you understand what that means? For only the third time in history, there will be a woman nominated on the VP slot and again, the very first time that a woman of color is on the ballot for this high post. That a woman who looks like my momma and grand mothers and all my aunts and cousins and ancestors, is on the ballot to be the Vice President of the United States is monumental. It is damn near identical to 2008, when the nation nominated and elected Barack Obama, the first Black President of this country.

I am so overjoyed and excited that Joe Biden had the nuts and the foresight to nominate Kamala for this position. Not because she’s a Black woman, but because she is most certainly a qualified woman. She has the record as an Attorney General and DA from the biggest and most diverse state in the country, California. She is also the junior Senator from California. She was a candidate for President this year as well. She has worked hard to get to this position. She is an HBCU grad and AKA alum. She represents so many firsts for this country. But her skills as a tactical debater and skilled wordsmith will serve her well. Her in depth knowledge of the law will aid her case in prosecuting Trumps unfitness for office. She is not someone who was given the spot as a token or just to get a demographic, she is here because she earned it and is definitely prepared and qualified for the job.

I know that many will try to smear her. Use the typical misogynistic behavior. That she is too ambitious or that she is too unapproachable or too rigid. That she is too angry, or being the angry black woman, when she attacks Trump and Pence for their records. But be clear she is none of those things. She is a woman, tasked with taking this current administration to task for it’s failings, because there are many, many failings. It is refreshing that we will get to see this play out in front of all America. I pray that the best of this country shows. I pray we can have truly substantive discussions regarding her positions and her politics, not the superficial bullshit. Good luck and lets go. Lets discuss

Female President Anyone???

If you’re reading this, then you know the general premise of where I’m going. If you’re smart then most likely you have already thought about this to yourself and maybe discussed it within your peer group and you’re hoping that it doesn’t hit daylight on the national news media stage. Could the Democrats be quietly staging a beautiful coup to allow for this nations first woman president within the next two to three years? Ahhh, there it is, I said it. I finally got it out and while, I’m nervous as hell that one of these political pundits are going to say it out loud too, I’m glad that it’s not just stuck in my brain anymore.

Lets face facts here, this man is 77 years old as he makes this current run for the White House. That means by time he’s sworn in to office, assuming he wins, he will be 78 years old as his birthday isn’t until November 20th. Think about that people. Having the most commanding, demanding and stressful job in the world at 78 years old! Now, it’s not to say that he isn’t up to the task, as I fully believe he is or else he wouldn’t be running. But as time has passed, I have began to have this sneaky suspicion that there is a back door plan being worked on and the world will be front and center for when it comes to pass.

If you look at what the dynamics currently are, Biden promised back during the debate season that he was going to select a woman as his running mate no matter what if he became the nominee. Well, fast forward a few months, a civil awakening, a health and financial crisis and here we stand about a month away from this historic announcement. This will mark just the second time in American history that a major political party will have a woman in the number two slot on the ticket. Credit to the late John McCain for selecting Sarah Palin, former Alaska Governor, as his VP pick in 2008. Though, that was probably the dumbest and most incoherent selection he could of made. Sorry, but she was a damn nut case. But in this selection this time, you will see the absolute best that America has to offer.

You have potential candidates Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Tammy Duckworth, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Congresswoman Val Demings and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms. One thing you notice is great diversity amongst this group. Black women, a war veteran, a former police officer, a former district attorney and a former professor and financial hawk. I mean talk about a powerhouse of a pool of candidates. Lets not forget the dark horse Stacey Abrams. The former Atlanta Congresswoman who pushed Governor Brian Kemp to the limits before losing the race for Governor. What we have is an opportunity to really showcase just how dynamic and qualified the women in America are to be one second from being the Commander in Chief.

Now realizing what we have in terms of quality, I want you to now consider this. Again, we would have a President in his first term being inaugurated at 78 years old if he wins. Do you really think that he would make it through the entire first term of his presidency? I certainly believe that he is capable and would definitely do so with all his facilities in order. But, let me pose this alternate theory. Democrats are purposefully setting the stage for America to have to accept it first woman president in American history. And damn it I’ll take it one step further. Should be have the nuts to chose Kamala or Val or Keisha or Stacey, we would be witnessing the first Black Woman President.

I know it sounds a bit far fetched when said out loud, but only if you have no imagination or only if you’re really ignoring the fact that the man is 78 years old and already shows signs of being a little bit challenged with his mental facilities. I’m not saying anything negative about Joe Biden or doubting his fitness to lead this nation, I am saying Democrats could be deploying a very cunning, shroud and highly effective plan of stocking the cupboard with talent ready to step in and be the future of the party while also selecting an old guard as cover to get her into the post.

Maybe this will not happen and we will have to wait until 2024, when Biden most likely will not seek re-election, and we have a regular Presidential contest between a new Republican and mostly likely the current Vice President, if Biden wins. Then the nation will really have to decide if it really has it grown up pants/dress on and is ready to accept a Woman as the most powerful person in the free world. Oh what a fun time it is to be a political brat/geek. What do you think? Is it a coup in the cards.

I Have A Vision

As we continue to embark on this journey of racial equality for my people, I think it is necessary to reset this purpose. There are those out there who are trying to steer the narrative so that they can justify their reluctance or denial of the equality and justice that we’re seeking. I have been listening to people out there say they don’t see the White Privilege or the White Supremacy. They say that Black people aren’t at a disadvantage. They say that we need to be careful because there will be a fatigue factor that will set in. It sounds sad and pathetic that some of these people still just want to just think of themselves.

This post will not focus any further on that, but it will reset the narrative and hopefully provide a positive and galvanizing spotlight on the situation. In the moment that we find ourselves in, we’re in need for people to set the stage for where we are. We are in a moment in time where Black people are pushing for there to be an end to the systemic racism and prejudicial indifference given to us. We are fighting for an end to the legal and policy driven practices that have been discriminatory to the Black community more so than any other. We are looking to get the recognition and acknowledgement of the financial and socioeconomic disadvantage that we’ve been placed and suppressed into.

We as a people just want to be able to have the same fair chances and opportunities as our White and Asian and Latino counterparts. We have a vision that instead of having a future where we’re still scared to be stopped by White law enforcement, we will feel the same comforts of White people when they’re stopped. I have a vision that one day I can look at television and see stories of Black people flourishing, leading a nation reborn. I have a vision that my LGBTQ community will be free to truly be ourselves. That my Transgender women won’t have to fight for jobs and acceptance just like the rest of us. I have a vision that black men will be able to come out to their families and not be chastised or discarded because of narrow minded views. I have a vision that we will be able to welcome a Black woman as President of the United States.

I have a vision that all women will be given their equal respect and responsibility like men. I have a vision that we will be able to look at the next generation and see that they will truly have a future better than the present that we live in. I have a vision that the vitriol and bigotry and discrimination against women will end. I have vision that the movement for equality will no longer be needed. I have a vision that we will become a better nation, a more inclusive and accepting nation. I have a vision that we will accept our differences as opportunities for bonding with those are unlike us. The vision is for an America that truly reflects the beacon of light and hope. The vision is for a society that is open and honest and fair. The vision is for a community that accepts all the facets that encompass it.

We the people have to see that the vision laid forth is one that is needed. We need to have equality, peace, understanding, compassion and empathy. Today we have a chance to move forward the conversation of an America truly living up to the standards in its founding.
